Dual Enrollment is a cost-effective way for high school students to get a head start on college. It allows high school students to enroll in college courses offered at their high school as well as save money and time. Courses vary by high school and can be paired with Concurrent Enrollment to help students achieve their post-secondary certificate and degree goals.

Dual Enrollment Steps to Enroll
As a Dual Enrollment student, you will follow the steps below to complete your registration to Mesa Community College. During the process, you’ll set up a student account, apply for admission, and complete the enrollment steps in one seamless application.
- Have all test scores, high school transcripts, andID authenticationdocuments ready for use.
- Plan to complete any requiredplacement examsprior to starting the DE Steps to Enroll for quicker processing.
Step 1 – New Students must get admitted to MCC by completing theHigh School Student Admissions Application.
- You will be required tosubmit ID Authenticationas part of this process. ID Authentication must be on file before you can enroll.
- Upon completion of Step 1, you will have successfully applied for admissions, have an MCC ID number, an MEID, and password.
- *Returning Studentswill need their MEID/Password to begin the registration process and will not need to re-apply for admission.
- If you forgot your MEID/Password, please visit theSelf Service Password Reset page. Once confirmed, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2 – Determine Placement & Course Requirements
- Click on your high schooland then select "see available classes."
- Identify the course in which you plan to enroll and ensure you meet the admissions requirements listed for the course. Take note of the following:MCCCD Course Number, MCCCD Course Title, Credits, and 5 digit class number, & Instructor Name.You will need this information to proceed with Step 3.
- If you do not meet the course prerequisite (admission requirements), you may need to complete anEdReady Placement Exam online.
- If a placement test is required, test scores will be uploaded 24-48 hours after completion of your test.
- Before you proceed to Step 3, you will need to identify the course (s) you wish to enroll in. Follow the steps below to search for your available courses by high school.
Step 3 – Complete Dual Enrollment Student Online Registration Form
In this step, students will need to provide the information below in order to determine eligibility for registration into dual enrollment classes.

- submit ID Authentication
- submit test scores or transcripts
- completion of Parent/ Guardian Responsibility And Consent for students under the age of 18
- List of the desired dual enrollment course (s) for enrollment. (Course details will be needed from Step 2)
Please allow 5-7 business days for your request to be processed. Communication will be sent to yourStudent MCC email addressidentifying the approved course (s). If your request cannot be approved, you will be notified of the reason and provided an opportunity to re-submit your request.

Step 4 – Pay tuition and fees
Once you have successfully enrolled into dual enrollment courses, you will need to make your tuition payment. Failure to make tuition payment in full may result in your being withdrawn from dual enrollment courses.The final deadline to pay or submit atuition payment planis September 15, 2023.

2023-2024 Maricopa Grant tuition assistance is available as a resource of the Maricopa Community College District for Dual Enrollment students attending Mesa Community College. Tuition assistance is available on a first-come, first-serve basis with a final deadline of September 8, 2023 for Fall 2023.
- Students must demonstrate financial need
- Students must demonstrate Arizona residency
- Open to grade levels 9-12
- Maximum 12 credits per academic year (Fall & Spring Only)
New! Arizona Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance Program (AZDETAP)
In the spring of 2023, the Arizona State Legislature passed Senate Bill 1717. This bill provides tuition assistance to high school students who qualify for, or participate in, a Free and Reduced Lunch program or meet equivalent household income levels. TheArizonaDualEnrollmentTuitionAssistanceProgram (AZDETAP) is open to high school students participating in a qualifying dual enrollment course(s), and meetallof following criteria:
- 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grade high school student
- Enrolled in a Dual Enrollment Qualifying Course
- Overall, unweighted high school GPA of 2.5 or greater as demonstrated by a high school transcript
- Meets Financial Guidelines as demonstrated by one of the following: Qualifying Letter for Free and Reduced Lunchor2022 Tax Return Transcript
- Funding amount varies by grade level ($300-$600 per academic year, Fall/Spring only)

August 7, 2023- Dual Enrollment registration opens. Maricopa Grant Application opens.
September 15, 2023- Fall Dual Enrollment registration AND payment deadline.Students will be dropped for non-payment as of this date.
September 18, 2023 -Fall Dual Enrollment Classes Begin
